Digital Transformation

Technology strategy that survives contact with reality.

Independent IT consulting and digital transformation: assessing where you are, deciding where you should be, and building a realistic, costed plan to get there, delivered by the same firm that can execute it.

The problem

When organisations bring us in

These are the situations that most often bring organisations to us for this service. If two or three of them land, there is a conversation worth having.

Capability

What is included

The full capability. Most engagements start with part of it and grow, so you are not obliged to take everything on day one.

Technology assessment

An independent review of your systems, infrastructure, security, spend, suppliers and capability, with a clear statement of the risks and opportunities.

Digital strategy and roadmap

A prioritised, costed, sequenced plan tied to business objectives, with the dependencies and risks made explicit.

Enterprise architecture

Designing how your applications, data, infrastructure and integrations should fit together over the next three to five years.

Business case development

The cost, benefit, risk and options analysis your board or funding committee needs in order to approve investment with confidence.

Programme and project management

Experienced project managers and business analysts to govern delivery, whether the work is ours or another supplier.

Vendor selection and assurance

Independent requirements definition, tender support, evaluation and contract review, so you are not relying on the supplier to mark their own homework.

Change management and adoption

Communication, training and adoption planning, because the most common cause of failed transformation is people, not technology.

Benefits realisation

Defining the measures up front and tracking them afterwards, so the organisation can see what the investment actually delivered.

Outcomes

What changes for your organisation

The outcomes we hold ourselves to. We agree how each one will be measured before work begins.

Delivery

How we deliver it

The same five stages apply whether this is a short assessment or a long-term managed service.

1

Strategy

We start with your business goals, current systems, budget and constraints, then agree what good looks like and how it will be measured.

2

Design

We design the solution end to end: architecture, integrations, security, data, user experience and the plan to get there safely.

3

Build

We deliver in planned stages with clear milestones, regular demonstrations and testing, so there are no surprises at go-live.

4

Secure

Security, access control, backup and compliance are built into every stage, not bolted on once the project is finished.

5

Support

We train your people, hand over documentation and stay on to monitor, maintain and improve the solution over time.

FAQs

Common questions

Often, yes, and we are as tired of it as you are. What we mean by it is specific: understand what the organisation is trying to achieve, work out which technology and process changes will move those numbers, sequence them affordably, and deliver them. If a piece of work cannot be connected to a business outcome, we will suggest not doing it.

Where we are genuinely the right firm for the work, we will say so and you can decide. Where you would be better served by a specialist, a product vendor or your own team, we will say that too. If you want the advisory work kept strictly independent from delivery, we are happy to structure it that way from the outset.

For most mid-sized organisations, three to five weeks from kick-off to a presented report and roadmap. Larger or multi-site organisations take longer, and we will tell you the realistic duration before we start.

A written assessment of your current position, a prioritised roadmap with indicative costs and timescales, a risk register, and a presentation to your leadership team. Everything is yours to use, including if you take it to another supplier.
